Ranchi, May 25: The identity of suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal has changed since Wednesday. Now she will be known as prisoner number 1187.
The ED’s special court on Wednesday sent her to judicial custody in Hotwar jail, where she has been provided this number. Earlier, the ED got Pooja Singhal’s medical examination done on Wednesday morning.
The team of doctors came to the ED’s office and after examination declared her completely fit. Pooja Singhal was remanded for five days for the first time, four days for the second time and five days for the third time. Her judicial custody of 14 days was also being completed on Wednesday itself.
It is noteworthy that on May 6, the ED had raided Ranchi and other places of relatives of Pooja Singhal. Actually, there was MNREGA scam in Jharkhand in 2009-10. In this case, the ED had put raids in Jharkhand, West Bengal, Haryana and Rajasthan simultaneously. 19 crore 31 lakh rupees were recovered in the raids. Of these, Rs 17 crore was recovered from the residence of chartered accountant Suman Kumar Singh.
At that time, the ED had raided Pooja Singhal’s residence apart from her husband’s hospital in Ranchi. Not only the money was recovered by the investigating agency, but many important documents were also seized.
Apart from this, the matter of investment made by both in many flats also came to the fore. It was said to have received investment papers of about 150 crores.
