New Delhi, 04 June: The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has directed YouTube and Twitter to remove anti-women advertisements.

The Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry on Saturday wrote to YouTube and Twitter, demanding action against an anti-women advertisement of a perfume brand. Along with this, an investigation has also been started in this regard under the rules of social media.

It is noteworthy that the Delhi Commission for Women has also complained to the ministry against the advertisement of a perfume brand. The commission has demanded action against the company. The commission has accused this advertisement of promoting gang rape.

In the advertisement, four boys are seen doing objectionable things. A boy and a girl are shown sitting on a bed when four more boys enter the room. A boy asks, ‘Shot mara lagta hai’, the boy sitting on the bed says yes mara na’ then the first boy says ‘now our turn’ and moves towards the girl. The girl looks shocked and uncomfortable seeing this conversation. Next, the boy picks up a bottle of a body spray named ‘Shot’ and the girl feels relieved as if she has just survived a gang rape.
