Kanpur, 09 June: Apart from the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), three teams of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) are working to probe Kanpur violence.
Meanwhile, another team was formed on Thursday which will help the innocent. The four-member team will consider applications claiming that the key person was not involved in the incident.
Police Commissioner Vijay Singh Meena said on Thursday that four teams are investigating the Kanpur riots. Keeping in mind that no action is taken against any innocent person and he can be saved from jail, the fifth team has been formed.
The team will be headed by Joint Commissioner of Police Anand Prakash Tiwari, and He will accompanied by DCP East Pramod Kumar, DCP West BBGTS Murthy and Assistant Commissioner of Police Anwarganj Mohd. Akmal Khan.
He told that this team will consider the applications in which it will be said by the relatives of the accused that our man was not involved in the incident. For this, the relatives will have to present with the evidence and if the team is satisfied, then no action will be taken against that person.
No innocent will go to jail
The Commissioner of Police said that four teams are continuously investigating the accused of violence. The police are doing a completely fair job. Despite this, some people are complaining that action is being taken against the innocent. In view of this, a fifth team of senior officers has been formed. With this, the complainants will get full opportunity to hand over the evidence of those whom they are claiming to be innocent to the team.
The CP said that action will be taken only against the miscreants involved in the incident and no innocent will go to jail.
