Uttarakhand: Chardham pilgrims to get insurance cover of 1 lakh

Dehradun, 15 June: With the efforts of Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, Chardham pilgrims will now get an insurance cover of one lakh rupees. The spiritual organization Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti will pay its dues. For this, Ajendra Ajay, president of Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee, thanked the minister Satpal Maharaj.

On Tuesday, the media in-charge of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, Harish Gaur has given this information. Temple Committee Chief Executive Officer BD Singh has written a letter in this regard to the Sub-Collector Joshimath, (Badrinath) Ukhimath (Kedarnath), Barkot (Yamunotri), Bhatwadi (Gangotri) and informed that this insurance cover will be given on any accident in the area in the temple premises.

In the letter, it has been asked to inform the Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee regarding the payment of insurance amount.

Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that the pilgrims in the temple premises of Uttarakhand Char Dham Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will now get an insurance cover of one lakh rupees for any accident.

He apprised that in the memory of his father Shri Brahmalin Sant Hans Maharaj and mother Rajarajeshwari, insurance cover has been dedicated to Chardham pilgrims.

He said that the amount of insurance would be payable to the pilgrims from United India Insurance Company Limited, Dehradun through the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee on behalf of Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti, New Delhi.

It is noteworthy that Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj is also the founder of the famous spiritual organization Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti, Delhi.
