Mumbai, 21 June: After 24 hours of political turmoil in Maharashtra, angry leader Eknath Shinde has categorically refused to return to Shiv Sena. This has now created a strong possibility of a fourth major split in Shiv Sena.
He told the Chief Minister Thackeray in clear words that he should break ties with Congress-NCP and form the government with BJP.
Meanwhile, all the leaders present in the meeting of the leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) at the Chief Minister’s residence have expressed confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
According to the information, after the Legislative Council elections were held on Monday, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde along with 17 Shiv Sena MLAs and two independent MLAs had reached Surat in Gujarat.
Shinde had claimed that he has 35 MLAs with him. After this a meeting of Shiv Sena MLAs and office bearers was held and Eknath Shinde was removed from the post of Shiv Sena Legislature Party leader.
After this, Shiv Sena’s secretary Milind Narvekar and Ravindra Phatak were sent to Surat to convince Eknath.
However, Eknath Shinde discussed with these two leaders for an hour and asked Shiv Sena to break ties with Congress-Nationalist Congress Party.
It is being told that after this the government will be formed with the help of the BJP. Eknath Shinde did a similar thing with then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Eknath Shinde has clearly told the Chief Minister that he can return to Shiv Sena only after the formation of the government of Shiv Sena along with BJP. Eknath Shinde also expressed displeasure over his removal from the post of MLA leader.
However, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that such a proposal does not run in Shiv Sena. In Shiv Sena, the order of the party president is final. That is why there is a strong discussion that the path of Eknath Shinde’s return to Shiv Sena has been closed.
Earlier Shiv Sena left the party in 1991 with 26 MLAs Chhagan Bhujbal. After this, Narayan Rane left the Shiv Sena party in 2005 with 11 MLAs.
Similarly, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s cousin Raj Thackeray left Shiv Sena in the year 2007. Whereas today again there is a possibility of a fourth split in Shiv Sena.
After this, a meeting of the leaders of the MVA was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. All the leaders present in this meeting have expressed confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Revenue Minister and Congress party leader Balasaheb Thorat said that Eknath Shinde’s case is a matter of Shiv Sena. All the leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi are with Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Therefore, there will be no impact on the Mahavikas Aghadi government because of Eknath Shinde. Such an effort has been made several times in the last two and a half years.
