Kannauj, 11 July: A Class 12th student was detained on Monday for reportedly sharing an offensive image of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Facebook, said the police.
However, the police action was taken after several individuals have reported about it on Twitter to the state DGP.
According to Talgram police station Station House Officer (SHO) Harishyam Singh, Ashish Yadav (18), a Murhiya village resident, was detained on Monday.
District Magistrate (DM) Rakesh Kumar Mishra and Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, according to officials, visited the Talgram police station and interrogated the youth in a closed room.
