Lucknow, 15 July: UP Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is planning to organize events centered on PM Narendra Modi’s “popularity” in renowned schools and colleges across the state in order to strengthen his image as a leader and administrator.
The events, which are planned to take place at renowned educational institutions in each district, will depict Modi’s political journey since becoming Gujarat’s chief minister for the first time in 2001.
A top BJP leader said that the state unit is working on a detailed plan for the two-month event. According to sources, the party intends to boost Modi’s popularity among the youth, particularly those above the age of 18, in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The program, according to state BJP spokesperson Sameer Singh, would be part of a continuous exercise that the party planned in its national executive in Hyderabad. “The party organization works continuously,” he added.
Furthermore, the UP unit has chosen to change around 30 percent of ‘Panna Pramukhs’ as a result of changes in voter strength at the booth level since 2017. According to sources, roughly 50,000 ‘Panna Pramukhs’ are scheduled to be replaced as part of the BJP’s effort to modernize its ground-level workforce.
The UP BJP has designated “weaker” booths and delegated responsibility for them to MPs and MLAs. According to sources, the party had earmarked 20,000 of the total 1.75 lakh booths where it either lost or won by a razor-thin margin. Simultaneously, the party hopes to increase patriotic appeal with its ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which would see BJP workers hoist the tricolor on 2 crore houses this Independence Day.
