Kanpur, 15 July: Kanpur Development Authority has inspected the Karachi-based Dawat-e-Islami (DeI) building at Chhote Miyan Ka Hata under the city’s Colonelganj police station. A KDA team evaluated the multi-story structure for flaws.

According to sources, when KDA officials asked the Dawat-e-Islami centre’s occupants for a map of the structure during a spot inspection, they failed to submit it to them. Following that, the authorities told them that if they did not submit the building map, action would be done in accordance with the regulations following issuance of notice. Further action may include everything from sealing to demolition.

To remember, an anonymous allegation was made to the Commissionerate police that the land in Chhote Mian Ka Hata, Colonelganj, on which the government school used to operate till last year, had been sold. Children from that school were transferred to a nearby government primary school six months ago.

According to the complaint, this land belonged to the Municipal Corporation, but it was illegally sold and a multi-story structure was illegally built on it. Later, it housed the Dawat-e-Islami centre.
