Delhi, 23 February: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has claimed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is planning to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the next few days and will serve him a notice by the evening.
The party believes that this move is being orchestrated by the BJP to prevent an alliance between the AAP and Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. While the CBI has not responded to these claims, the BJP has accused AAP leaders of trying to create confusion and garner sympathy for Kejriwal. Sources have revealed that talks for a seat-sharing pact between the Congress and AAP in Delhi, Gujarat, and Haryana are in the final stages.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj has stated that reliable sources have informed them about the planned arrest of Kejriwal, who has skipped six previous summons by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case.
He further stated that if Kejriwal is arrested, people will take to the streets in protest. This development has sparked fear and uncertainty, as the political landscape in Delhi is set to shift with a possible alliance between AAP and Congress.
