Abbas Ansari gets bail in case of getting land registered at gunpoint

Prayagraj, August 23: The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to Abbas Ansari, his maternal uncle Atif Raza alias Sarjil Raza and close aide Afroz in the case of getting a person’s land registered in their name by threatening to kill him.

This order has been given by Justice Rajbir Singh. The High Court had reserved its decision on August 1 after hearing the lawyers on the bail applications of Abbas Ansari as well as both.

According to the facts of the case, Abu Fakhar Khan had lodged an FIR in Ghazipur’s city police station on August 12, 2023 against mafia Mukhtar Ansari, his wife Afshan Ansari, MLA son Abbas Ansari, brother-in-law Atif Raza and Anwar Shahzad and Afroz, a close aide of the Ansari family. In the FIR, all of them were accused of cheating, extortion, threatening to kill, usurping land and money and plotting. It was said that Abu Fakhar Khan had valuable land in front of Homeopathic Medical College.

Mukhtar Ansari called Abu Fakhar Khan to Lucknow jail in 2012 through his two brothers-in-law and pressured him to transfer his land in the name of his son Abbas Ansari. He also threatened to kill him if he did not sell the land. After that, he got the sale deed done by giving a cheque of 20 lakhs and four lakhs in cash on the basis of circle rate.

During this, Afroz, Atif Raza and Anwar Shahzad reached Fakhar’s house and took him to Abbas Ansari. It is alleged that Abbas threatened him with a pistol and got him to sign the cheque. After this, he withdrew lakhs of rupees from the bank and also grabbed the land. According to the FIR, Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afsha Ansari was also involved in the incident. Atif Raza alias Sarjil is currently lodged in Lucknow jail. In this case, bail of Mukhtar’s elder brother-in-law Anwar Shahzad has already been approved. While Abbas Ansari is lodged in Kasganj jail.
