Prayagraj, 18 November: Mafia don Mukhtar Ansari’s son and Mau Sadar MLA Abbas Ansari has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Abbas was in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody for the last two weeks and was produced in the court on Friday.
Abbas was questioned by the ED in the money laundering case. Abbas’s maternal uncle Sarjeel Raza alias Atif was also arrested in the case.
Abbas was questioned in various cases of money laundering and illegal assets. He was on ED remand since November 4. He was produced in the Prayagraj court after the ED’s remand was over on Friday. From there he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
Abbas Ansari’s lawyer demanded bail while the ED claimed to have found important evidence in the money laundering case. Abbas will be kept in Naini Central Jail.
