Sambhal, 13 December: The government on Friday suspended Moradabad Jail Superintendent PP Singh in the case of allowing SP leaders to meet the accused of violence in the district.
On the orders of the court, the team went to survey the Jama Masjid and Harihar Temple in the month of November. During this, riot broke out, wherein five people lost their lives. On this incident, the Yogi government adopted a strict stand against the rioters, while the opposition was busy cornering the government.
During this time, many political leaders were demanding to go to Sambhal and meet the victims. At the same time, a delegation of Samajwadi Party had reached the jail to meet the accused.
The government took this matter seriously. On the instructions of DG Jail, DIG Jail Kuntal Kishore reached the jail and investigated the entire matter. It was found that the jail rules were not followed in arranging the meeting. The investigation revealed the negligence of Senior Jail Superintendent PP Singh, Jailer Vikram Singh Yadav and Deputy Jailer Praveen Singh.
On this, the Jailer and Deputy Jailer were suspended. At the same time, a report was sent to the government for departmental action against Jail Superintendent PP Singh and now he has also been suspended.
