New Delhi, September 18: Aditya L-1, launched to study the sun, has started sending scientific data. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said on Monday that Aditya-L1 has started collecting scientific data.
Sensors on the STEPS instrument aboard the spacecraft have begun measuring super-thermal and energetic ions and electrons more than 50,000 km from Earth.
According to ISRO, this data helps scientists analyse the behaviour of particles around the Earth. This figure displays the variation in the energetic particle environment collected by a single unit of deployed equipment.
The next step of Aditya L-1 is to be placed in the orbit of the sun. On September 19, the spacecraft will leave the Earth’s orbit and move towards the Sun’s orbit.
