Lucknow, November 6: The Yogi government, striving to make Uttar Pradesh a better state, has started the process of speeding up the construction of a state-of-the-art forensic science lab in Lucknow.
The construction of this modern forensic science lab will be in the form of a 7-storey complex (B+S+5) including the basement. It will be constructed and developed in a build-up area of โโ20,572.80 square meters at a cost of 87.50 crores. The EPC Cell of the Planning Department has been assigned the task of completing this task and the process of determining various reports including detailed project report, architectural design has started.
It is noteworthy that this construction is proposed on the land provided by UP State Forensic Institute and it will be connected to Lucknow-Kanpur highway through Ranipur Road.
Construction of forensic lab will be done according to the needs of the future
According to CM Yogi’s vision, this forensic lab will be built according to the needs of the future. The complex to be built in the marked area is located at a distance of 20 km from Charbagh station. It will be solar PV enabled and various beautification works including underground tank, incinerator, composite plant, acoustic wall paneling, gas based fire fighting system, DG set, electric sub station and horticulture will be completed.
The premises will also be equipped with different capacity lifts, HVAC air conditioning, VRV and VRF systems, IP based EPAX system, IP based CCTV system and audio visual system. With the construction of a forensic lab here, it will help in various investigative processes including criminal investigation.
The construction work will be completed in 18 months
According to the spokesperson of the state government, the EPC cell of the planning department has started action for the construction and development of the forensic lab. A detailed action plan has been prepared for this. The time period for completion of all construction and development works has been fixed in 18 months. At the same time, before completing the construction process, a detailed project report will be created which will act like a master plan. In the master plan, various reports including architectural design, topography, site survey, sub-soil survey will be collected and determined, the process of which has been started and the focus is being on completing this work in a period of 90 days.
He added further that opinions and recommendations of institutions like IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT BHU and NIT Prayagraj will also be used in the construction of the forensic lab.
