Kanpur, 27 November: A case of alleged gang rape of a widow working in Jalkal Department Kanpur has been registered after almost two years at Gwaltoli police station on the orders of the court.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mahesh Kumar said that investigation of the case has been started.
As per the allegations of the woman, on the orders of the court, a case has been registered against eight people including Joint Safai Karamchari Union President Sunil Suman, Lok Janshakti Party District President Kishan Singh under serious sections including gang rape and investigation has been started.
After the death of her husband, the victim works in the Jalkal Department on the basis of dependent of the deceased where she met Sunil Suman. Sunil is the president of the Joint Safai Karamchari Union of the Jalkal Department.
She alleged that Sunil had tried to force her several times after finding her alone. Complained about this to the police several times, but no action was taken. In the year 2022, on the night of Holika Dahan, she went to Sunil’s relative and Lok Janshakti Party District President Kishan Singh, a resident of Gwaltoli where Kishan stopped her on some pretext. In the meantime Sunil Suman reached there with his other friend Sanjay. Sunil abused and threatened her. All the three gang raped her. Sanjay and Kishan also made an obscene video of her.
She claimed that they threatened to make the video viral on social media. After escaping from the clutches of the accused, she reached the police station. The inspector present in the police station also did not help her and abused her and drove her away. When her complaint was not heard at the police station, she approached the court.
The woman has also alleged that more than one lakh rupees were extorted from her by threatening with an obscene video.
