Washington, 23 Feb: After a gap of 50 years, the US succeeded in landing its spacecraft Odysseus on the Moon on Thursday. The spacecraft prepared by Hyuston Institute Machines faced an initial communication challenge, but made a soft landing on the surface of the Moon.

The scientists in the space mission called it a milestone achieved by the US Space Mission. The spacecraft will be active for seven days after landing on the south pole of the Moon. The functioning can be disrupted due to extreme cold weather. Before this Indian spacecraft landed on the South Pole on August 23, 2023.

The launching of Odysseus was originally scheduled for February 14, but was deferred due to technical reasons. The US is one of five countries that succeeded in landing on the Moon. USA plans to send astronauts around the Moon and land on the Moon’s surface in 2026.
