Ahmedabad, February 18: The court has given a big verdict regarding the culprits of the serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad. The court has sentenced 38 of its 49 convicts to death and 11 to life imprisonment.
Earlier on February 8, the special court had convicted all of them. While 28 people were acquitted giving them the benefit of doubt.
It is noteworthy that on a Saturday, July 26 2008, in Ahmedabad from 6.15 pm to 7.45 pm, there were powerful bomb blasts at 20 places in 90 minutes. These blasts were done in public places like buses, hospitals, parking lots. These blasts killed 56 people and injured 246 people.
In this regard, the police had registered 20 complaints in Ahmedabad and 15 in Surat. The whole country was rocked by these blasts in Ahmedabad.
