Akhilesh Yadav elected leader of SP parliamentary party, likely to quit Karhal seat

Lucknow, 8 June: After newly elected Lok Sabha member and SP President Akhilesh Yadav from Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh was elected the leader of the party parliamentary party on Saturday, it has become clear that he will now do central politics and resign from the membership of the Assembly.

Akhilesh is the MLA from Karhal assembly constituency of Mainpuri district. 37 SP candidates have been successful in registering victory in the Lok Sabha elections. After Akhilesh Yadav was elected the leader of the parliamentary party, the newly elected MPs of the party congratulated him. During this, Akhilesh greeted his workers with full enthusiasm.

Akhilesh told the journalists that SP MPs will work to speak in the interest of the public and will fight by staying among the public. On the strategy of PDA, Akhilesh Yadav stressed that SP works on the strategy of backward, Dalit and minority i.e. PDA. And we have got its result in the 2024 elections.

“There are two types of MPs here, those who have got the certificate and those who have not got the certificate. We congratulate both such MPs for their victory,” he said.

On the question related to Karhal assembly seat, Akhilesh said that SP has been holding on in Mainpuri for a long time and the result of that is that we have won the Lok Sabha elections there. “SP MPs have elected me as the leader of the parliamentary party. We will sit with Shivpal Singh Yadav and prominent leaders and discuss the future strategy,” he remarked.
