All aboard second Vande Bharat Train: PM Modi flags off Varanasi-Delhi Route

Delhi, 18 December: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second Vande Bharat train between Varanasi and New Delhi on Monday.

This much-awaited train flagged off at 2:15 pm and will have its inaugural run from Varanasi to New Delhi. The Northern Railway has revealed that the train is saffron in colour and boasts of multiple new features.

This is the second saffron-coloured Vande Bharat train that the Railway Ministry has launched in the country, as stated by a source in the ministry.

The train has superior passenger amenities such as onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system, plush interiors, bio-vacuum toilets, and charging points beneath every seat. It also has a better heat ventilation and air-conditioning system with UV lamp for germ-free air supply.

The train will run six days a week except on Tuesdays, starting at 6:00 am from Varanasi and reaching New Delhi at 2:05 pm. The first Vande Bharat train, which runs between New Delhi and Varanasi, starts at 6:00 am from Delhi and reaches its destination at 2:00 pm.

It departs for New Delhi at 3:00 pm and reaches its destination at 11:00 pm, running six days a week except on Thursdays.

The first saffron-grey colour Vande Bharat train was launched on September 24 between Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, as part of the nine Vande Bharat trains flagged off by Prime Minister Modi.
