Lucknow, 07 December: With an aim of streamlining the judicial process and to do away with the routine hassles of rushing from one court to another, the Yogi government has decided to bring all the courts under one roof in Uttar Pradesh.
Ten districts: Mahoba, Hathras, Chandauli, Shamli, Amethi, Hapur, Auraiya, Sonbhadra, Sambhal and Chitrakoot have been selected as a pilot project for Integrated Court Complex on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
A provision of Rs 400 crore was made in supplementary budget for Integrated Court Complex. During the discussion on the supplementary budget, the Chief Minister also mentioned about the important scheme of Integrated Court Complex. He said that timely delivery of justice is essential in good governance. With this spirit, the government is going to construct integrated court complexes in 10 districts.
To study the model of Integrated Court Complex, a team from Uttar Pradesh had visited Baroda in Gujarat as the model has been successfully implemented there.
Recently, in a high-level meeting, the Chief Minister had given directions regarding the action plan of the complex. The CM had said that according to the different nature of crimes, there has also been an increase in the number of courts attached to different laws for speedy justice.
Many courts are running in rented buildings at several places. Due to courts in different directions in the same district, both the judicial officers and the litigants have to face problems. There is also a problem in security arrangements and administrative arrangements. In view of this, integrated court buildings can be useful for the courts. The construction of such court complexes was also ordered by the Supreme Court in an order.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Public Works, Home and Law and Justice Departments are working on this project. The integrated building will have space for court, judges’ chamber, meeting hall, video court, parking, canteen and other facilities.
The integrated court complex to be set up in 10 districts will have district and subordinate courts, commercial courts, miscellaneous, tribunals, fast track courts and Lok Adalats. Along with court buildings, advocate chamber and auditorium, there will also be residential colony, parking and food plaza for judges and judicial officers and employees.
