Prayagraj, March 23: The case of Delhi High Court’s senior judge, Justice Yashwant Verma, is getting deeper instead of stopping. Justice Yashwant Verma’s transfer was opposed in the Lucknow Bench too, and the Allahabad High Court Bar Association has expressed dissatisfaction over the internal investigation in this case. President Anil Tiwari said that the case should be investigated by ED and CBI.
Anil Tiwari clarified that on Monday, in the General House, a proposal for recommendation from political parties and MPs for impeachment against Justice Yashwant Verma will be passed. Along with this, the proposal for ED and CBI investigation of the case and the demand to keep him away from judicial work till the investigation report comes will also be prominently put forward.
He said that his and the lawyers’ protest against Justice Yashwant Verma will continue. For the general assembly meeting to be held on Monday, many lawyers have asked to bring a proposal that the recommendation for impeachment against Justice Verma should be made to political parties and MPs.
President said that the High Court Bar is hopeful that the MPs and political parties will definitely implement the recommendation of impeachment. In the general body meeting, a proposal can also be passed that if the demand of the High Court lawyers regarding Justice Yashwant Verma is ignored, then they can decide to abstain from judicial work.
Bar President Anil Tiwari, General Secretary Vikrant Pandey and other officials of the High Court Bar say that only internal investigation is not enough in the case of Justice Yashwant Verma. This case should also be investigated by ED and CBI, because only an impartial investigation will make it clear how much truth is there in the allegations against him.
