Prayagraj, 27 Sept: The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday ordered that the status quo be maintained on a plot of land in Agra’s district Dayalbagh area where the Radha Soami Satsang Bhawan is located until October 5.

The ruling was issued by Justice Manish Kumar Nigam on a petition submitted by Radha Soami Satsang Sabha opposing the Agra administration’s demolition action. When a revenue crew arrived to the disputed area to dismantle the “illegal” building on September 24, members of Satsang Sabha clashed with police.

The tragedy harmed several persons. Radha Soami Satsang Sabha is accused of unlawfully constructing the structure on “public land.”

When the case was heard by the high court on Wednesday, the petitioner submitted an amendment motion, which the court granted, and the petitioner was instructed to integrate the same in the writ petition.

State lawyers argued against the petition, claiming that the structure was built by infringing on the land. However, the court stated that arguments must be heard on the next hearing date, October 5.
