Allahabad HC lifts ban on transfer of BASIC teachers

Principal Secretary Basic and Secretary Basic Education Board gave time-bound action plan

Prayagraj, 09 August: The Allahabad High Court has given permission to complete the process of adjustment and transfer of surplus teachers in the standard student-teacher ratio in council schools under the scheme given in the affidavit of Principal Secretary Basic Education and Secretary Basic Education Council Prayagraj and has lifted the ban on transfer. The next hearing of the petition will be on August 14.

This order has been given by the division bench of Justice SD Singh and Justice Donadi Ramesh on the petition of Neerja and 50 others. On the order of the court, Principal Secretary Basic Education and Secretary Basic Education Board filed personal affidavits and presented a time-bound action plan in the court and said that the data of the number of students registered till June 30 2024 has been updated on the portal of State Project Office UP. Scrutiny has been completed with the help of NIC.

In continuation of the government order of June 26 2024 and the court order, schools with more and less teachers have been identified. Adjustment proceedings will be done accordingly.

The count of excess teachers will be done on August 13 and 14 and the list will be displayed in the login of the District Basic Education Officer on August 16 and 17. In which the final data will be available. The petitioner’s lawyer asked for time. On which the petition has been directed to be presented for hearing on 14 August.
