Prayagraj, April 13: Allahabad High Court has rejected the request of two adult girls to recognize same-sex marriage. The court disposed of the habeas corpus petition filed by the mother to free her adult daughter from the possession of the opposition adult girl.

On Wednesday, this order was passed by Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav on the habeas corpus petition filed by Manju Devi. Mother Anju Devi, a resident of Prayagraj city under Atarsuiya police station, had demanded from the court that her daughter is an adult. She has been illegally detained in possession by the opposition girl. She had demanded from the High Court to get rid of the possession of the opposition girl. The mother said that her girl is a graduate pass.

On the orders of the court, both the girls remained present in the court. Both told the court that they were adults. Both have done same-sex marriage with mutual consent. Their same-sex marriage should be recognized by the court.

The public prosecutor opposed this demand of the girls and said that such same-sex marriage is wrong in Indian civilization and rituals. It was said that gay marriage is not recognized in any law. The public prosecutor said that same-sex marriage cannot be recognized as children cannot be produced from this marriage.

The High Court rejected the request of both the adult girls present in the court to recognize same-sex marriage and at the same time disposed of the custodial petition filed by the mother.
