Allahabad HC terminates services of 3 judicial officers

Prayagraj, May 22: The Administrative Committee of the Allahabad High Court has sacked three additional district judge (ADJ) rank judicial officers after confirming the corruption charges, while acquitted the other two judicial officers of the corruption charges.

After examining the complaints received in the High Court, the Administrative Committee considered the allegations against five judicial officers.

After confirmation of the charges, three ADJ rank judicial officers were ordered to be terminated, while after considering the charges against two other judicial officers, they were acquitted from the case.

Three judicial officers have been dismissed with immediate effect. Notification regarding this action has not been issued yet, but it is expected that it will be issued soon.

The officers of the Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service who have been found guilty of judicial misconduct include – Ashok Kumar Singh (6th ADJ), Himanshu Bhatnagar Additional District and Sessions Judge and Rakesh Kumar Nain Special Judge SC-ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

Ashok Kumar Singh was appointed as Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division) Ghazipur on March 28 2001. He was appointed as Additional District and Sessions Judge Badaun on 04 July 2015. He was suspended on July 11, 2015.

Himanshu Bhatnagar was appointed as Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division) on March 19, 1996. After this, on April 16, 2021, he was appointed as Additional District and Sessions Judge Ballia.

At the same time Rakesh Kumar Nain had joined the judicial service of the state on August 11, 1999. He has been the Special Judge (Prevention of SC-ST Atrocities Act) in Siddharthnagar.
