Lucknow, 9 Dec: On Friday, the Lucknow High Court stayed the destruction of the Levana hotel in the city. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) had issued the hotel’s owners notice that demolition will take place on December 9. According to a joint report given by the Lucknow commissioner and police commissioner, the big fire at the Levana Suites hotel, which claimed the lives of four people, was caused by carelessness.
The blaze was blamed on the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (LESA), district administration, fire, municipal corporation, and excise agencies, according to the commissioner’s report. The investigative report also listed the officers and engineers who were accountable for the fire.
On September 5, a large fire broke out at a hotel in Uttar Pradesh’s Hazratganj, killing four people and injuring ten more. Following the event, 17 officials were suspended for incompetence and violations. A total of 19 officials were found guilty in the case, with two of them retired.
