Mahakumbh Nagar, February 16: Addressing the ‘Kumbh’s Faith and Climate Change Conference’ at the holy city Prayagraj on Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that along with faith, we will have to consider the factors of climate change and find ways to prevent it.
He said that the life cycle of all living beings is connected with humans. If the life of living beings is in danger, then our life will also be in danger. Therefore, we should not wait for the apocalypse and save the living and animal world, only then will the human world be saved.
People who talk about the welfare of the animate and inanimate world should not become barriers themselves in life: Yogi
Chief Minister Yogi said that we talk about the welfare of the animate and inanimate world, but in personal life we โโourselves become barriers. Every person is blaming, but is not participating in thinking about climate change. Our effort should be how we can become partners. Will we be able to stop encroachment on rivers? What will happen if the rivers of India dry up? Rivers are being tampered with, trees in forests are being cut to make coal, which is the main cause of climate change.
Yogi Adityanath said that 10 years ago the Ganga was not uninterrupted and clean. Work was done to revive the rivers in Uttar Pradesh. We have promoted electric buses. This time, there is a huge crowd every day in the Maha Kumbh.
He said that adequate availability of Ganga water has been ensured in Prayagraj. Here, 52 crore people have taken bath in Triveni in 33 days. Today, there is uninterrupted water here. Whoever is taking a dip in Triveni is experiencing spiritual energy himself. Kumbh has become the biggest event in the world.
He said that the message of the Vedas is to implement it in daily life. Plant ‘one tree in the name of mother, one tree in the name of faith’. In the last 8 years, our government has planted 210 crore trees in Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, about 80 percent of the trees planted by the forest department are safe. About 70 percent of the trees planted through various organizations are safe. Spread the message of Kumbh to every home. Civilization and culture will continue to flourish on the land of Prayagraj.
On this occasion, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati, President of Parmarth Niketan Swami Chidanand Muni, Forest Minister of the State Government Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, Minister of State for Forests K.P. Malik and Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh were prominently present.
