Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair arrested

New Delhi, 27 June: The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of Delhi Police has arrested Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

The police have registered a case against Zubair under sections 153 (acts likely to cause disturbance to the atmosphere and cause nuisance) and section 295 (insulting an object considered sacred by any society) of the IPC.

According to police sources, Mohammad Zubair has been accused of hurting religious sentiments. He was taken into custody around 6.45 pm for questioning in this case.

Police sources say that there is complete evidence to arrest Zubair. At present, the police will present Zubair before the magistrate, after which Mohd. Zubair will be taken on police remand.

It is noteworthy that Zubair runs Alt News website along with his friend. He tries to verify the credibility of the news published by various news websites by fact checking them.
