Ballia, 11 Oct: A 16-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh lost both of her legs and her left hand, as well as many fractures, after being shoved in front of a passing train by two men who had been pursuing her for two months.

The event occurred on the fringes of UP’s Bareilly district on Tuesday evening.

According to hospital officials, the injured Class 10 student was taken to a private hospital and underwent a lengthy operation that lasted until early Wednesday morning. Her condition is critical.

While Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath approved a payout of Rs 5 lakh for the girl’s family and asked that sufficient medical care be provided, three cops were punished for carelessness.

Ashok Kumar Kamboj, in-charge of the CB Ganj police station; in-charge of the CB Ganj police outpost; and constable are among those who have been suspended.

Police in Bareilly first stated that the incident was a suicide attempt as a result of a love affair. On Wednesday morning, police filed a First Information Report (FIR) after the girl’s uncle, an advocate, filed a complaint identifying two persons in her community.

“An FIR has been filed in this matter, and the complainant has named two adults who live in the same village for pushing his niece onto a railway track where a train was passing.” We are reviewing relevant CCTV footage to determine whether the victim was being followed by her stalkers. There is no CCTV footage available at the accident scene.”

Kamboj told meadiapersons earlier while trying to shield the accused and passing the incident as a suicide attempt over failed love affair.

“She was crushed beneath a moving train, losing both of her legs below the knees as well as her left hand. Her body is riddled with fractures. Our primary goal is to save her, but her condition is critical,” said Dr. O P Bhaskar, the owner of the facility where she is being treated.

According to the FIR, the girl used to commute from her hometown to a tutoring facility in the evening. She went through the same motions on Tuesday.

According to the FIR, two males from her area who had reportedly been following her for the previous two months followed her and shoved her in front of a moving train on the railway lines.

“She told us she was followed by the two on her way to coaching, and we filed a complaint with the local police station a month ago, but no action was taken. We had also called the two people’s families and informed them of how she was being harassed by them. They did not follow her for a few days but began to do so in the last week,” the girl’s uncle told reporters. “The victim’s condition is critical. If their involvement in the event is established during the inquiry, we will take the harshest possible punishment against them,” stated Bareilly Superintendent of Police (City) Rahul Bhati.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of this matter. In the case, the officers went to the spot and talked to the victim’s family and ordered action.
