Lucknow, 08 September: The Uttar Pradesh government will distribute sugar to Antyodaya category cardholders at the rate of Rs 18 per kg per card. This distribution will happen in the second cycle of regular distribution in the month of September.
State’s Additional Food Commissioner Anil Kumar Dubey told here on Wednesday that the sugar allotted for three months (from July to September) will be distributed along with the September distribution for the beneficiaries of Antyodaya category. Distribution of sugar to Antyodaya card holders at the rate of Rs 18 per kg per card will be done in the second cycle of regular distribution under the National Food Security Act of the month of September, with three kg per cardholder sugar permissible for July, August and September.
Dubey informed that necessary guidelines have been issued to all the District Magistrates (DMs) and District Supply Officers (DSOs) in this regard.
Additional Food Commissioner told that the fair rate shopkeepers working in the state for distribution of sugar will be given dividend at the rate of Rs 70 per quintal like food grains. Where door step delivery is not applicable, like food grains for sugar distribution, a maximum of Rs 15 per quintal up to 10 km and a maximum of Rs 18 per quintal above 11 km will be payable. Dubey further said that with regard to the distribution of sugar, it would be ensured that in every case the distribution is done in the presence of the nodal officer posted at the fair price shop. Portability facility will not be admissible in respect of sugar distribution. The beneficiary will have to get sugar from his original fair price shop only
