Moradabad, 22 December: The Police arrested Arshad, the accused who raped a woman by posing as Akshay in Pakbara police station area. Police presented the accused in court on Sunday from where he was sent to jail.
A woman living in Pakbara had sent a complaint letter to the Chief Minister on December 5. The woman told that three years ago she met a man named Akshay living near Angoor Wali Mosque. He befriended her by hiding his real identity. After three years, the woman came to know that Akshay’s real name is Arshad.
The victim alleged that the accused Arshad alias Akshay raped her by luring her with marriage and also made a video on mobile. After this, the accused started blackmailing her. He said that if she complained anywhere, he would make the video viral on social media.
The victim alleged that the accused has extorted six lakh rupees from her so far. When the victim reached home at 10 pm on December 4, Arshad’s mother said that he had gone to attend someone’s wedding. Arshad’s neighbors told that Arshad was getting married in Bhojpur. When the victim complained to Bhojpur police station, it was found that Arshad married and brought the bride home. After that, the victim reached Pakbada police station and told her ordeal to the police. The woman also has four children from her first husband.
The police registered a report on the woman’s complaint and arrested Arshad.
Pakbada police station in-charge Vinod Kumar said that the accused was produced in the court on Sunday evening, from here he was sent to the district jail.
