New Delhi, 31 May: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the ban on Madrasa in Assam. The order of the Gauhati High Court has been challenged in the Supreme Court.
In fact, the Gauhati High Court had refused to stay the Assam government’s decision to ban Madrasa.
The Gauhati High Court in its judgment had said that the Assam government’s law is for madrassas run by government funds. Therefore, that law cannot be stayed. The Assam government had ordered the conversion of state-funded madrassas into schools.
On this, Mohammad Uddin has challenged the order of the Gauhati High Court in the Supreme Court. Advocate Adil Ahmed has filed the petition on behalf of the petitioner.
