Bhopal, 17 November: Voting continues on Friday for Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections-2023. During this period, great enthusiasm was seen among the elderly also towards voting.
It is worth mentioning that 96-year-old Sajanbai of Bhaunrasa of Sonakchh assembly stepped out of her house to vote and took selfie at selfi point made for voters by district election officers.
103 year old Mangilal also voted
Another senior citizen 103-year-old Mangilal Beniwal went to polling booth 176 Mandi Prang of Municipal Council Khategaon and cast his vote.
According to the district poll officers, for the convenience of voters, necessary arrangements were made at all the polling stations in the district. Ramps, drinking water, lights, toilets, wheel chairs were arranged at the polling stations so that the disabled people could vote easily.

Under the Assembly Elections 2023 in Madhya Pradesh, 71.16 percent voting has taken place in the state till 5 pm on Friday for all 230 assembly seats in the state.
According to the election office, till 5 pm, 82.00 in Agarmalwa district, 56.24 in Alirajpur, 74.85 in Anuppur district, 69.13 in Ashoknagar, 79.78 in Balaghat, 70.36 in Barwani, 73.96 in Betul, 58.41 in Bhind, 59.19 in Bhopal, 72.64 in Burhanpur, 66.37 in Chhatarpur, 78.85 in Chhindwara, 73.83 in Damoh, 69.66 in Datia, 76.42 in Dewas, 72.35 in Dhar, 78.30 in Dindori, 74.98 in Guna, 61.64 in Gwalior, 74.20 in Harda, 64.95 in Indore, 64.95 in Jabalpur. 66.24, in Jhabua 73.10, 69.03 percent voting took place in Katni.
Similarly, 66.99 in Khandwa, 75.54 in Khargone, 71.52 in Mandla, 78.07 in Mandsaur, 64.76 in Morena, 76.97 in Narmadapuram, 77.44 in Narsinghpur, 81.19 in Neemuch, 77.33 in Niwari, 69.41 in Panna, 73.1 in Raisen. 3, 80.34 in Rajgarh, 80.02 in Ratlam, 64.45 in Rewa, 70.44 in Sagar, 66.52 in Satna, 71.57 in Sehore, 80.39 in Seoni, 75.03 in Shahdol, 80.95 in Shajapur, 77.33 in Sheopur, 71.46 in Shivpuri, 64.54 in Sidhi, 7 in Singrauli. 2.20, in Tikamgarh 68.09 percent voting has taken place in Ujjain, 73.37 percent in Umaria and 75.55 percent in Vidisha.
In the second phase of Chhattisgarh and all the assembly seats of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, 68.15 percent and 71.16 percent voting took place respectively. Voting figures are till 5 pm. There may be an increase in the final results. Voting was peaceful except sporadic incidents.
For the first time, women staff were deployed at all the polling stations of Raipur North Assembly constituency of Chhattisgarh, who handled the work there very well. 1046 women were deployed at 201 polling stations established in the constituency. These all-women managed polling stations provided a sense of comfort and security to all voters, especially women and third gender voters, leading to more inclusive elections.
With a view to making polling stations accessible to voters, 11 polling stations were set up in Bharatpur-Sonhat assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh which has less than 100 voters. Sheradand had only 5 voters, for which a polling station was set up.
At Sonewani polling station in Balaghat Assembly of Madhya Pradesh, all 42 registered voters (26 female and 16 male voters) came together to cast their votes, resulting in 100 percent voting.
5000 women managed polling stations, around 200 disabled managed polling stations and around 15000 model polling stations were established in Madhya Pradesh. Around 700 women managed polling stations, around 70 disabled managed polling stations and around 350 model polling stations were established in the second phase of Chhattisgarh elections. Special theme based polling stations were also created for tribals in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
The Election Commission had made concerted efforts to facilitate voting among tribal communities. 100% enrollment was achieved, especially among vulnerable tribal groups living in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. There are more than 7.52 lakh voters belonging to these communities, namely Kamar, Bhunjiya, Baiga, Pahari Korwa, Abujhmadiya, Birhor in Chhattisgarh and Sahariya, Bhariya and Baiga in Madhya Pradesh were registered as voters. Tribals from these communities were excited to participate in the celebration of democracy, as polling stations based on tribal lifestyle provided a conducive environment for community members to come to the polling station and vote.
Voting for 230 assembly seats of Madhya Pradesh went on from 7 am to 6 pm. Voting took place from 7 am to 3 pm at 3 assembly constituencies of Baihar, Lanji and Parswada and 55 polling stations of Mandla and 40 of Dindori in Naxal-affected Balaghat district.
There are 2533 candidates contesting for the total 230 assembly constituencies of the state. These include 2280 men, 252 women and 1 third gender candidate. Voting in 70 assemblies of Chhattisgarh went on from 8 am to 5 pm. 958 candidates are in the fray in this phase.
