Ayodhya, December 31: The face of tourism and pilgrimage time has changed in Ayodhya as people have started gathering in the temple town from Tuesday on the first English New Year after Ram Lalla was enthroned in the grand temple of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi.
Bookings in Ayodhya hotels have filled up very fast. This will include devotees not only from the state but also from Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and South. Almost 100% rooms have been booked. Bookings are more from December 31 to January 2. In Ram Nagari ( Ayodhya), although Chaitra month is considered as the Hindi New Year, but there are a large number of devotees who reach religious places and pay obeisance on the first day of the English year. They wish to get the darshan of the Lord on the first day of the calendar year.
A large number of devotees also reach Vaishno Devi, Khatu Shyam, Ujjain, Kashi Vishwanath, Mathura and offer their faith. This time Ramlala has been seated in the grand temple. Therefore, the administration has estimated the arrival of a large number of devotees, traffic diversion will start from today in Ramnagari including the roads leading to Ayodhya Ram Temple.
There will also be strong security arrangements.
SSP Rajkaran Nayyar said that on the new year, there will be strong security arrangements at Ram Temple, Hanumangarhi, Lata Chowk, Guptarghat and Suryakund and other tourist places.
A large number of devotees also used to reach the temporary temple. Before January 22, 2024, Ram Lalla remained seated in tarpaulin for years. After this, his religious temple was built. After coming in it, the duration of darshan also increased. In 2023 also, a large number of devotees had darshan puja on the English New Year. This time Ramlala has been seated in the grand temple and Ayodhya has been marked on the world map. Therefore, a large number of devotees are expected to arrive.
Ayodhya Mayor Girishpati Tripathi believes that the person who applies tilak outside Ramlala’s temple earns 800 to one thousand rupees per day. After the crowd increases, the income of worship materials and restaurants also will likely to witness jump.

Ram Ji Pandey, owner of Hotel Ram Prastha located at Dharmapath, said that booking has increased for the new year, almost all the rooms in our hotel are full in the months of January and February.
Shyamji Gupta, owner of Hotel New Shri Ram Palace, operating near Ayodhya Hanumangarhi, said that generally booking is being done between December 31 and January 2 which is full from today. People from Maharashtra, Delhi and South India have also booked rooms. For security reasons, everyone’s ID is collected. Rooms are already booked for the New Year in many homestays located in Saptasagar Colony.
