New Delhi, January 01: The first day of the new year-2022, over one lakh 12 thousand devotees have paid obeisance to the Shri Ram Lalla (Lord Ram in infant form) in Ayodhya and about the same number of devotees came to visit Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. On normal days this number remains around 20 thousand.

Champat Rai, General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and International Vice President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad told that today more than one lakh 12 thousand devotees reached Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in eight hours a day.

Champat Rai said, “Today is January 1. It is not a festival of Indian tradition. More than 53 thousand devotees visited Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya in four hours from 7 am to 11 am today. From 02 pm to 06 pm by adding the number of devotees who have visited till date, the total number of devotees is more than one lakh 12 thousand. This is astonishing to me.”

It is noteworthy that at present the work of temple construction is going on in full swing at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi site. Until the construction of the temple is completed, the idol of Sri Ram Lalla has been placed in a makeshift temple built at a distance from the birthplace. After the construction of the temple at the birthplace, the deity of Shri Ram Lalla will be installed in the newly constructed temple. The temple construction is expected to be completed by December next year.

A day earlier i.e. on Friday, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah had also offered prayer at Shri Ram Lalla. During this, he had taken information about the progress of temple construction from the officials of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
