Jhansi, 17 January: Dharmendra Valmiki, the Vidhan Sabha area president of the Azad Samaj Party owned by the MP Chandrashekhar Azad, had plotted his own kidnapping, police told.
Dharmendra had to pay five lakh rupees for the house, so he concocted his kidnapping but police recovered him safely within a few hours with the help of surveillance.
Azad Samaj Party’s Garautha Vidhan Sabha area president Dharmendra Valmiki’s kidnapping was reported by his family.
According to the police, Dharmendra Valmiki’s father told that his son had left the house for a morning walk. A WhatsApp call came from his number, in which the miscreants demanded a ransom of five lakh rupees. Police immediately registered a case and formed several teams including surveillance and SWAT team to recover the kidnapped person and started the search. The surveillance team found the location of the youth’s mobile in Banda district. While tracing the location, the police reached Banda district and recovered the kidnapped Dharmendra Valmiki.
SP Gopinath Soni said that the kidnapped person told the police that he wanted to shift to Shivaji Nagar Jhansi with his wife and children. Where he had made an agreement with Mangal Kushwaha two years ago, the time was going to end in March 2025. It was necessary to pay five lakh rupees. Therefore, he misled his brother and family members and gave false information about his kidnapping and demanded a ransom of five lakhs. Further action is being taken in the case.
