Lucknow, November 27: The Samajwadi Party (SP) Member of Parliament (MP) and former Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Mo. Azam Khan’s troubles seemed to have increased further as now he has been found guilty in the Jal Nigam recruitment scam.
The Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing the case has sent a warrant to Azam Khan, who is lodged in Sitapur Jail.
Azam Khan was the Minister for Urban Development and Water Resources in the previous SP government of the state. During his tenure, there were vacancies of 853 Junior Engineer, 117 Assistant Engineer and 335 Clerk in Jal Nigam and allegations of scam in these recruitments were made after which the SIT was formed to investigate.
The SIT had filed a case in this regard in the year 2018 against Azam Khan, then Municipal Development Secretary and others.
Now the SIT will soon file a chargesheet in this case in the court.
Significantly, the difficulties of SP MP Azam Khan from Rampur are increasing continuously. He was already lodged in Sitapur Jail along with MLA wife Tazin Fatma and son Abdullah Azam Khan on charges of forging fake papers in passport of son former MLA Abdullah Azam Khan and in the case of tampering of land at Johar University in Rampur.
