Bakrid celebrated amid tight security in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, June 17: The Muslim community in Uttar Pradesh celebrated the festival of Eid-ul-Adha, also known as Bakrid ( feast of sacrifice) in a very cordial atmosphere. Namaz was offered on Eid-ul-Adha in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Mathura, Agra and other districts of the state. 

After offering prayers at the Eidgah in Aishbagh in Lucknow, the President of Islamic Center of India Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali greeted the people.

Maulana Khalid Rashid said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, I want to tell you all that we have to take care of the environment around us and protect it by planting trees. We have to take a pledge to keep the environment safe. 

Rajya Sabha MP Dr Dinesh Sharma and Minister of State for Minority Affairs Danish Azad met Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali at Eidgah Lucknow and congratulated him on Eid-ul-Azha. On the occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma congratulated all the Muslim community of Uttar Pradesh on the festival and shared his views. 

Thousands of people offered Eid-ul-Adha prayers at Eidgah in Ayodhya area. MP Awadhesh Prasad, who was present there at the time of prayers, congratulated the people on his behalf and also appealed to celebrate the festival with happiness.

MP Awadhesh Prasad said that this year I am hugging and congratulating the people who came to offer prayers on Eid-ul-Adha, my people have made me win. I have come to celebrate the festival among my people. 

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, Gulzar Bano, who came from Dashrabagh Colony of Barabanki district, cut the cake at the state office of Rashtriya Muslim Manch in Lucknow and congratulated her people on the festival. Gulzar Bano tried to give a message by cutting the goat on the cake.

Gulzar said that no one is happy by killing an innocent animal. Instead of killing an animal, it feels better to cut a symbolic goat. In Agra, lakhs of people gathered to offer Namaaz on Eid-ul-Adha at Shahi Jama Masjid and congratulated each other after the Namaaz. People who offered Namaaz also invited each other for a feast in the evening.

Similarly, Namaaz was offered on Eid-ul-Adha at mosques in major Muslim areas of Turkmanpur, Ghazi Roza, Urdu Bazaar, Khoonipur, Ilahibagh in Gorakhpur. People who came out after offering Namaaz invited each other for sevaiyaan and feasts. UP Police was seen deployed for the security of people who reached different districts to offer Namaaz on Eid-ul-Adha in Uttar Pradesh.
