Bareilly, January 16: While solving the mystery of the murder of the watchman and theft in a factory located in Parsakheda, the police have arrested the contractor’s son Ashu, a district topper of High School.
However, an accused confessed that he had planned the theft and murder only so that he could marry his girlfriend.
The story from high school topper to criminal
Ashu had earned a fame in the area by scoring 95% marks in the high school examination. But family discord and lack of money to marry his girlfriend pushed him towards crime. During interrogation, Ashu told that his girlfriend’s marriage was fixed by the family members somewhere else. He wanted to elope with his girlfriend and marry her, but lack of money became an obstacle in his way. That is why he planned to commit theft in the factory.
Ashu entered the factory on the night of January 10, but the watchman Kesar Pant woke up. Fearing being identified, he strangled the watchman with a muffler and escaped with cash worth Rs 60,000 from the cupboard. With this stolen money, he bought a bike for Rs 32,000.
CCTV revealed the secret
Factory owner Vineet Kumar Saxena informed the police, after which CCTV footage of nearby factories was scanned. In the footage, Ashu was seen coming out of the factory wrapped in a blanket. Police detained Ashu and interrogated him, where he confessed his crime.
Police action and statement of the accused
The accused said that he was upset with his father’s second marriage and wanted to start a new life with his girlfriend.
Police station in-charge Suresh Chandra Gautam said, “The accused has confessed his crime. The bike and other items bought with the stolen money have been recovered. All legal steps are being taken to get him strict punishment.
