BJP Election Committee to finalise list of LS candidates from UP

Lucknow, 23 March: The Bharatiya Janata Party Central Election Committee (CEC) is expected to meet in Delhi on Saturday to finalise candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. The saffron party, which has only nominated candidates for 51 seats in Uttar Pradesh so far, must announce candidates for four of the eight seats that will go to elections in the first phase, with the deadline for nominations being March 27.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, two Deputy Chief Ministers, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary, and General Secretary Organisation Dharampal will all attend the crucial CEC meeting.

According to sources, after the CEC meeting, the list of candidates for Uttar Pradesh’s remaining 24 Lok Sabha seats would be announced. Aside from that, quota seats for allies will be chosen.

So far, the BJP has produced a list of 51 Lok Sabha candidates in Uttar Pradesh. RLD has been allocated two seats, SBSP has one seat, and Apna Dal (S) will get two seats.

On March 18, the BJP Core Committee met in Delhi to discuss names for Lok Sabha candidates from Uttar Pradesh. Now, this must be authorized at the CEC meeting before the list can be disseminated.
