BJP MP Saumitra Khan raises the issue of punishment of a woman in ‘Taliban style’ in WB

New Delhi, 02 July: Discussion on the President’s address is underway in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. During this, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Saumitra Khan raised the issue of Trinamool Congress MLA talking about Muslim nation and publicly punishing a woman in Talibani style.

Somitra Khan, MP from Vishnupur, West Bengal, said that the Trinamool Congress MLA (Hamidul Rehman) said that this is a Muslim country and a woman can be beaten on the road. He beat a woman on the middle of the road. This incident happened yesterday in Chopra Block.

Somitra Khan raised the issue of alleged political violence in West Bengal under the Trinamool Congress government.

He said that there is no election in the state except Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly. The state government does not listen to the Lieutenant Governor. If there was no Election Commission and security forces, there would be no election in West Bengal. So far more than 200 BJP workers have been killed.

Earlier, Trinamool Congress leader Kalyan Banerjee had raised questions on the Election Commission. During the discussion, he raised questions on the Election Commission on the issue of elections in seven phases, elections after a long gap and deployment of paramilitary forces.
