Breaking: Threat to blow up Lucknow’s schools and airport, alert issued

Lucknow, 13 May: After Delhi schools, on Monday, many schools in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar received a bomb threat, causing concern among school administrators and students. All of the students were transported from their classes to the playgrounds, and their parents were notified to pick them up. A threat to blow up the schools was sent via email.

After receiving the information, police and bomb disposal teams arrived at the schools and began their investigations. The threat mail was delivered to Vibgyor High School, the LPS PGI branch, and St. Mary’s School. The police claimed no incriminating objects were discovered in the classrooms, and the cyber squad was looking into the origins of these emails.

On Monday morning, emails containing bomb threats were received on the mail IDs of schools in Lucknow Commissionerate area. As soon as the school principal and manager received the email information, the children were taken out of the schools. Along with this, the school management informed the parents of the children about the incident.

Apart from this, Lucknow Airport has also received a bomb threat. Vibgyor School in Gomti Nagar area has received a bomb threat. As soon as the threatening email was received, everyone was taken out by ringing the school bell. After this, the children remaining in the school rooms were asked to come out. Similar information came to light in Saint Mary’s School located at Katauta intersection and LPS School in PGI area. The children of both the schools were immediately taken out by the school staff.

On receiving information about the bomb, apart from the local police station, ACP, DCP rank officers and bomb disposal squad reached the spot. The squad officers thoroughly inspected the schools with the help of dog squad. The bomb disposal squad investigated the suspicious object and took it into custody. During investigation of the suspicious object, no bomb was found. Apart from the schools of Lucknow, the airport also received bomb threats.

The airport security officials conducted a thorough investigation. After investigation, the airport located at Amausi is being declared completely safe. Apart from airport security officials, police officers also reached there. After receiving information about the bomb, entire Lucknow has been put on alert mode. Vehicle checking has been increased at major intersections of the city.
