Budget Update: Sitharaman tables Union Budget 2024-25 in Parliament

New Delhi, July 23: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday presented the first Union Budget of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of developed India on the table of the Lok Sabha. With this, Sitharaman made a record of presenting the budget for the seventh time in a row. Earlier, Morarji Desai has the record of presenting the budget six times in a row.

Finance Minister Sitharaman met President Droupadi Murmu before presenting the Union Budget 2024-25. As per the established tradition, the Finance Minister reached Rashtrapati Bhavan before presenting the Union Budget and met the President.

This is the first budget of the third term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Due to the Lok Sabha elections, the interim budget was presented on February 1, 2024. The budget presented today will prepare the outline of developed India by 2047.
