Delhi, 30 January: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) team seized โน 36 lakh in cash, two luxury cars and some incriminating documents after searching the residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the capital Delhi.
The Central Investigation Agency reached Soren’s 5/1 Shanti Niketan residence in South Delhi and camped there for more than 13 hours. During this time the investigating officers searched the residential premises.
Official sources said on Tuesday that the ED team reached Hemant Soren’s 5/1 Shanti Niketan residence in South Delhi on Monday to question him in connection with the investigation into a money laundering case related to an alleged land fraud and spent more than 13 hours there. Been camping there.
During this, the Central Investigation Agency searched the residential premises of Chief Minister Soren. ED officials recovered ?36 lakh in cash from Hemant Soren’s bungalow late night and also seized two luxury cars.
It is noteworthy that ED has issued summons to Hemant Soren several times for questioning in the land scam case. However, despite being issued summons several times, Soren did not appear before the Central Investigation Agency.
At the same time, recently the ED team had interrogated Hemant Soren for several hours at his official residence in Ranchi. After this, the investigating agency again issued summons to Soren and asked him to appear for questioning on January 29 or 30.
In this connection, the ED team had reached Hemant Soren’s residence in Delhi to interrogate him but Hemant Soren was not found there.
