Guwahati, 01 July: An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer and Additional Commissioner of CGST MS Rao along with another middleman were arrested on charges of demanding bribe in a raid conducted by CBI in Guwahati.
The arrested IRS officer had demanded bribe in lieu of railway’s contract bill. He had allegedly demanded Rs 3 lakh 83 thousand through middlemen.
For this a demand draft of Rs 48 lakh 43 thousand was prepared. This bill was prepared through the Additional Commissioner of Dibrugarh.
