Centre implements Public Examination Act 2024, issues notification at midnight

Delhi, June 22: The paper leak law was implemented on Friday night to strictly prevent the leakage of question papers for competitive examinations. This law was passed in February of this year, and the government issued its notification on Friday.

It has been named ‘Public Examination Act 2024’. With its implementation, there is a provision for three to five years of imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh for the use of unfair means in competitive examinations. There is a provision for a fine up to Rs 1 crore for committing such a crime in an organised manner.

There is an uproar across the country regarding the NEET paper leak and the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam.

Meanwhile, the government has taken a big decision and implemented a strict law to stop paper leaks. The Central Government has notified ‘Public Examination Act 2024’.

The purpose of this law is to prevent paper leaks and the copying of competitive examinations. Under this, 15 activities have been identified, involvement in any of which can result in imprisonment, a ban, or a heavy fine.

The scope of the paper leak law includes all those examinations that are conducted by public examination bodies or institutions that are recognised by the Central Government. Many big examinations are included in this. The scope of the law includes UPSC, SSC, railway competitive examinations, banking recruitment examinations, and all computer-based examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
