Chance of rain remains in central areas of Uttar Pradesh including Kanpur

Kanpur, 02 October: After the end of monsoon season, the returning monsoon is seen becoming active.

Due to this, the rains that started late in the night in the central areas of Uttar Pradesh including Kanpur continued on Monday also. The Meteorological Department says that the possibility of rain still persists in 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology, Dr. S.N. Sunil Pandey said on Monday that the withdrawal line of south-west monsoon is between Gulmarg, Dharamshala, Pantnagar, Etawah, Morena, Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur, Barmer and latitude 25.7 degrees north and longitude. Keeps passing through 70.3 degrees east.

He further added, conditions are becoming favorable for withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and remaining parts of West Uttar Pradesh, some more parts of West Madhya Pradesh, remaining parts of Rajasthan and some parts of Rajasthan.

Pandey said, well marked low pressure area over South Central Maharashtra and adjoining areas of Gujarat in the next 24 to 48 hours is now situated as a low pressure area over the same area.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends to mid-tropospheric levels. The well marked low pressure area over Southeast Jharkhand and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal and North Interior Odisha is now situated as a low pressure over South Jharkhand and neighbourhood. The associated cyclonic circulation extends to mid-tropospheric levels.

Told that due to the current weather activities in Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Jhansi, Unnao, Auraiya, Lucknow, Barabanki, Kannauj, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Sitapur, Bahraich, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Pilibhit of Uttar Pradesh. There will be strong winds along with thunder and lightning and there is a possibility of moderate rain.

He told that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 34.2 and the minimum temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 85 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 86 percent. The wind direction was north-west with an average speed of 1.6 km per hour and rainfall was 15.7 mm. According to the weather forecast, there will be light clouds in the next five days and there is a possibility of light rainfall at local level.
