New Delhi, 4 September: The ISRO has given a major update under Chandrayaan-3 mission. ISRO has once again made a soft landing of Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram Lander on the surface of the Moon.

On Monday, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) released a video on X informing that Vikram Lander has moved further towards fulfilling its mission objectives. ISRO said that on receiving the command, Vikram Lander ‘fired’ the engines. According to estimates, it raised itself up to about 40 cm and landed safely at a distance of 30-40 cm further.

ISRO said that this process of soft landing again of Vikram Lander has increased the hopes for future return of samples and human expedition to the Moon. Vikram’s systems are working properly and are in good condition. The ramp and chest and ILSA payload (instruments) were zipped back into the lander and successfully redeployed after the experiment.

Before this, Pragyan Rover has completed its work.
