Fatehabad, 9 November: District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomar has imposed Section 144 to reduce the increasing level of pollution in the district under which many types of activities will be prohibited.
In Fatehabad district in Haryana, which ranks second after Greater Noida in the Uttar Pradesh in the country in terms of severe air quality, people do not seem to be getting any relief from bad air quality. Fatehabad’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 413 on Thursday also.
In this regard, the District Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to the officers of various concerned departments to ensure compliance with the rules so that the level of pollution in the district can be reduced.
The District Magistrate said that these days, due to cold weather and low wind speed, the level of pollution in the environment increases significantly due to the burning of farm waste.
To lower the level of pollution in the air, the District Deputy Commissioner has banned stone breaking units, mining, loading-unloading of materials used in construction work, new construction works and burning of any kind of garbage, rubber or other material.
Officer warned that legal action will be taken as per rules against the concerned persons who disobey the orders and rules issued.
