CM Fadnavis announces action against Bangladeshi nationals residing ‘illegally’ in Maharashtra

Mumbai, 22 December: Action against Bangladeshi citizens has started in Maharashtra after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s nod.

The Maharashtra police arrested Bangladeshi couples living illegally in Ulhasnagar district on Sunday

Under this, the Thane district crime unit raided Sonia Colony in Ulhasnagar and arrested a Bangladeshi couple living illegally. The arrested persons have been identified as Anjura Hasan (37) and Kamal Hasan (44). Intensive investigation of this case is underway.

Senior Police Inspector Ashok Koli of Ulhasnagar Crime Unit said on Sunday that information about a Bangladeshi couple hiding in the area was received from sources. On this basis, the police investigated and arrested the Bangladeshi couple.

He told that probe so far has revealed that the two arrested in this operation were residing illegally in India for the last 7 to 8 years and were earning their livelihood by driving rickshaws and working in homes. A case has been registered in this matter at Kolsewadi Police Station. Intensive investigation of this case is going on.
